The great kitchen Remodel

 

BEFORE

 

Every remodel seems to take on a life of its own. Ours was a forced Remodel.  We came back from our Alaskan trip and discovered that the floor near our fridge was buckled.  It turned out our ice maker line had been leaking for a few months under the floor boards, when the drying company came out and ripped up the floor there was already mold in the walls, cabinet and floor boards.  we lived with these loud fans running 24/7 for about 2 weeks.  We couldn't be downstairs because they were working a lot in the evening and the fans were loud, so we ate dinner in the bedroom upstairs.

Here are the fans, it sounded like a jet was in our kitchen! Not very kid friendly either!

Projects really do take on their own life.  We discovered that the Water heater was also leaking in the garage and had caused the floor to expand near the door.  We had to put a new water heater in and re do the water heater closet

We laid out the new floor for a few days so that it would be acclimated to our home. Trim removed, floor ripped out and new subfloor put down.  We had a friend paint our trim and tone done some of my creative wall colors in the bathroom and the hallway and living area.  We had no downstairs bathroom during this whole remodel, we had to pull out the sink and toilet.

 
 
 
 


Doors off, worst idea possible with a Toddler. Our house was a nightmare of tools and thing shoved everywhere!



Jared did a cabinet refacing and we bought new Beaded Shaker doors in Antique White and alternated black Knobs and drawer pulls.  We put in a new dishwasher and microwave hood both not in pictures as we had not installed them yet when we took these photos.

 

We had no sink for almost 2 weeks off and on

Well when it rains it pours, and like I said you pay to play and in the midst of all of this we had some major computer glitches.  Not sure if it was Brody banging on it or the actual computer but it made it really challenging to  search ideas online when the computers keeps crashing.
